IMPORTANT NOTICE: BriBooks is a creative writing platform designed for children and young people aged 8–18.Purchases and account registrations must be completed by an adult — either a school, teacher, administrator, or parent/guardian.By accessing or using BriBooks, you confirm you have read these Terms and have the authority to accept them, including on behalf of any Minor user.

1. Introduction

Welcome to BriBooks. These Terms and Conditions ('Terms') govern your use of the BriBooks platform, operated by Youbooks Edtech Pte Ltd, 200 Cantonment Road, #06-01A, Southpoint, Singapore 089763 (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”). BriBooks is also supported by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Youbooks EdTech (India) Pvt. Ltd., for operations in India.

The BriBooks platform and all associated services are accessible via https://www.bribooks.com and the BriBooks mobile application (collectively, the “Service” or “Platform”).

Our Privacy Policy also governs your use of the Service and explains how we collect, safeguard, and disclose information arising from your use of the Platform. These Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund & Return Policy together form the “Agreements” between us. You acknowledge that you have read and understood the Agreements and agree to be bound by them.

If you do not agree with the Agreements, you may not use the Service. Please contact us at support@bribooks.com if you have any questions before proceeding.

2. Key Definitions

  • Minor: Any individual under the age of 18, or under the age defined as a minor in their applicable jurisdiction, whichever is higher.
  • Registered School / School: An educational institution that has registered with BriBooks and enrolled students on the Platform.
  • Parent/Guardian: The parent, legal guardian, or other person with parental responsibility for a Minor using the Platform.
  • Organisation: A school, educational institution, business, or other entity on whose behalf an End User accesses or uses the Service.
  • Published Author: A Minor or adult user who has published one or more books on the BriBooks Platform.
  • User-Generated Content (UGC) / Content: Any text, images, book drafts, published works, videos, or other material created or uploaded by a user through or on the Platform.
  • Digital Products: eBooks, and audiobooks available on the Platform.
  • Printed Books: Physical printed copies of books ordered through the Platform.

3. Who May Use BriBooks

3.1 Student Users (Aged 8–18)

BriBooks is designed for students aged 8 to 18. Students may use the Platform as Minor users once they have been registered by a Registered School or by their Parent/Guardian in accordance with Section 4 below. Minor users do not directly enter into these Terms — binding acceptance is provided by the Registered School or Parent/Guardian on their behalf.

3.2 Purchases

All purchases on the Platform (including paid subscriptions, printed books, and other products or services) must be made by an adult aged 18 or over — either a Registered School, teacher, administrator, or Parent/Guardian. By making a purchase, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age and have the full legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
  • You have the legal right to use any payment method you provide; and
  • All information you supply is true, accurate, complete, and current.

Minors may not make purchases on the Platform independently.

3.3 Adult Users

Schools, teachers, administrators, parents, and guardians who access the Platform in their own capacity must be aged 18 or over and agree to these Terms in their individual capacity.

4. Account Registration

4.1 How Students Are Registered

Students may be registered on BriBooks via any one of the following three paths:

  • Direct School Registration: The Registered School registers students directly on the Platform on their behalf.
  • School-Shared Registration Link: The school provides a BriBooks registration link to parents/guardians, who then complete the registration for their child via the BriBooks portal.
  • Direct Parent/Guardian Registration: A parent or guardian registers their child directly through the BriBooks portal without involvement from a school.

4.2 School Responsibilities on Registration

Where a school registers students (directly or by sharing a registration link), the school:

  • Warrants that it has obtained all necessary parental or guardian consents required under applicable law (including FERPA, COPPA, GDPR, India’s DPDP Act, and equivalent laws) prior to registering any student;
  • Accepts these Terms on behalf of its registered Minor students;
  • Is responsible for the accuracy of student information provided at registration;
  • Is responsible for ensuring that students’ use of BriBooks complies with the school’s own acceptable use policies; and
  • Agrees to promptly notify BriBooks at support@bribooks.com if a registered student should be removed from the Platform.

4.3 Parent/Guardian Responsibilities on Registration

Where a Parent/Guardian completes registration, the Parent/Guardian:

  • Represents that they are the parent or legal guardian of the Minor being registered;
  • Accepts these Terms on behalf of the Minor;
  • Consents to the collection, use, and processing of the Minor’s personal data as described in our Privacy Policy; and
  • Agrees to supervise the Minor’s use of the Platform in accordance with these Terms.

4.4 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@bribooks.com upon becoming aware of any unauthorised access or security breach.

5. Communications and Marketing

5.1 Service Communications

By registering on BriBooks, you agree to receive essential service-related communications, including account confirmations, platform updates, and notifications directly related to your use of the Service.

5.2 Marketing Communications — Opt-In Required

NOTE: Marketing consent is separate from your agreement to these Terms. Registering on BriBooks does NOT automatically sign you up for marketing communications.

We will ask for your explicit, separate consent before sending you any newsletters, promotional materials, or inspirational content via email, SMS, or WhatsApp.

To opt out of any or all marketing communications at any time, click the unsubscribe link in any communication, or email support@bribooks.com.Opt-out requests will be processed within 10 business days.

5.3 Marketing Featuring Published Authors

With the separate, explicit consent of the relevant Published Author (or their Parent/Guardian if the author is a Minor), BriBooks may send marketing communications featuring that author’s name, photograph, video, and details of their published work. The sole purpose of such communications is to inspire and motivate other students to write and publish their own books.

6. Purchases, Payment, and Pricing

If you wish to purchase any product or service through the Platform, you may be asked to provide payment information including your card number, expiry date, billing address, and shipping details. We may use third-party payment processors to facilitate transactions

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at any time for reasons including but not limited to: product or service unavailability, pricing errors, errors in your order, or suspected fraud or unauthorised transactions.

6.1 Royalties

BriBooks will only pay author royalties for books sold on bribooks.com. Royalties are not payable for books sold on any other website or platform. Royalty rates, payment schedules, and eligibility thresholds are detailed on our Pricing & Royalty page at https://www.bribooks.com/pricing

7. Refunds and Returns

Our complete Refund & Return Policy is set out in the BriBooks Refund & Return Policy document, available at https://www.bribooks.com/refund-and-return. The key terms are summarised below and are legally binding as part of these Terms.

7.1 General Rule — Non-Refundable, Non-Returnable, Non-Cancellable

All book orders placed by users are non-refundable, non-returnable, and non-cancellable due to the print-on-demand nature of the books.

7.2 Absolute No-Refund Rule for Digital Products

NO REFUND IS APPLICABLE FOR EBOOKS, AUDIOBOOKS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

This applies regardless of whether the order was placed by a school, parent, guardian, or any other party.

7.3 Refund Exceptions — Printed Books Only

Exceptions to the no-refund rule apply only to printed books in the following circumstances:

  • The user’s access to the Portal is deactivated without prior notice.
  • The Portal is unavailable for more than 24 hours without any planned communication.
  • BriBooks is unable to deliver the printed book within 60 days of the book’s completion and publication on the Portal.
  • BriBooks decides to cancel the book order.

In any of the above cases, the user is entitled to a 100% refund, which will be issued within 7 business days of the occurrence of the qualifying event. Refund requests must be submitted by writing to support@bribooks.com.

7.4 Return Exceptions — Printed Books Only

Returns are accepted only for printed books in the following circumstances:

  • The delivered printed copy is damaged upon receipt.
  • The delivered printed content does not match the published version ordered by the user.

In such cases, the user may return the book by writing to support@bribooks.com and providing the order ID generated at the time of purchase. The return process may take up to 15 working days.

7.5 No Returns for Digital Products

NO RETURN IS APPLICABLE FOR EBOOKS, AUDIOBOOKS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

8. ISBN Allocation

ISBN allocation is subject to minimum eligibility criteria. Books that do not meet these criteria will be treated as author copies and will not receive an ISBN. To determine the conditions and minimum number of copies required for ISBN eligibility for a particular event or programme, please visit the relevant event page on the BriBooks platform.

9. User-Generated Content

9.1 Your Responsibility for Content

The Service allows you to create, upload, link, store, share, and otherwise make available Content, including text, graphics, images, and videos. You are solely responsible for all Content you post on or through the Service, including its legality, reliability, and appropriateness.

By posting Content on or through the Service, you represent and warrant that:

  • The Content is yours or you have the right to use it and to grant the rights and licence set out in these Terms; and
  • The posting of your Content does not violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, contractual rights, or any other rights of any person or entity.

9.2 Licence You Grant to BriBooks

You retain all ownership rights in your Content. However, by posting Content on or through the Service, you grant BriBooks a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, modify, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce, and distribute such Content on and through the Service solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

9.3 BriBooks’ Rights

BriBooks has the right, but not the obligation, to monitor and edit all Content provided by users. Content found on or through the Service that is the property of BriBooks or used with its permission may not be distributed, modified, transmitted, reused, or copied for commercial purposes without prior written permission from BriBooks.

10. Image and Media Upload Terms

10.1 Copyright and Intellectual Property

By uploading any image or media file to BriBooks, you represent and warrant that you own the content or have obtained all necessary licences, permissions, and consents. You agree not to upload any content that infringes any third party’s intellectual property rights. You agree to indemnify and hold BriBooks harmless from any claims or damages arising from such infringement.

10.2 Content Standards

BriBooks serves users of all backgrounds, cultures, and religions, including children as young as 8. You must not upload any images or media that are discriminatory, defamatory, sexually explicit, violent, offensive to any community or religion, or otherwise inappropriate for a children’s platform.

10.3 Use of Published Authors’ Name, Image, and Content in Marketing

Where a student has published a book on BriBooks, BriBooks may use that student’s name, photograph, video, and details of their published work in inspirational marketing communications sent to registered BriBooks users via email and WhatsApp — solely to inspire and motivate other students to write and publish their own books.

This use will only occur where BriBooks has obtained separate, explicit, written consent from the Minor’s Parent/Guardian (or from the adult author themselves, where the author is aged 18 or over). This consent may be withdrawn at any time by contacting support@bribooks.com.

11. Prohibited Uses

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to use the Service:

  • In any way that violates any applicable national or international law or regulation;
  • To exploit, harm, or attempt to exploit or harm Minors in any way, including by exposing them to inappropriate content;
  • To transmit any unsolicited advertising or promotional material, including junk mail, chain letters, or spam;
  • To impersonate BriBooks, a BriBooks employee, another user, or any other person or entity;
  • To engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone’s use or enjoyment of the Service;
  • To use any automated device, process, robot, or spider to access, monitor, or copy any material on the Service;
  • To introduce any viruses, trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other malicious material;
  • To attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its servers, or any connected database.

12. Children's Data Protection

12.1 Our Commitment

The protection of children’s personal data is a priority for BriBooks. We comply with applicable children’s data protection laws across all jurisdictions in which we operate, including: COPPA (United States), GDPR (European Union and United Kingdom), India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act), and equivalent legislation in other applicable jurisdictions.

12.2 No Targeted Advertising to Minors

BriBooks does not serve targeted or behavioural advertising to Minor users. We do not sell, rent, or disclose Minor users’ personal data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

12.3 Parental Rights

Parents and guardians of Minor users have the right to review, correct, or request deletion of their child’s personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@bribooks.com. Please refer to our Privacy Policy at https://www.bribooks.com/privacy for full details.

13. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding User-Generated Content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Youbooks Edtech Pte Ltd and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. BriBooks’ trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of BriBooks.

14. Copyright Policy

BriBooks respects the intellectual property rights of others. We will respond promptly to any claim that Content posted on the Service infringes the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity.

If you are a copyright owner and believe that copyrighted work has been infringed on the Service: Please submit a written notice to our Copyright Agent at support@bribooks.com with the subject line “Copyright Infringement”.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED BY BRIBOOKS ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS.BRIBOOKS MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE OPERATION OF THE SERVICE.YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.BRIBOOKS HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

16. Limitation of Liability

EXCEPT AS PROHIBITED BY LAW, BRIBOOKS AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE OF ANY KIND, WHETHER ARISING IN CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, OR OTHER TORT, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT.

WHERE LIABILITY IS FOUND ON THE PART OF BRIBOOKS, IT WILL BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU FOR THE PRODUCTS AND/OR SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

17. Termination

BriBooks may terminate or suspend your account and bar access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, at its sole discretion, for any reason, including a breach of these Terms.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

Notwithstanding the above, where mandatory consumer protection or children’s privacy laws of your jurisdiction confer rights upon you or Minor users that cannot be excluded by contract, those rights continue to apply.

19. Amendments to These Terms

BriBooks reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. For material changes, BriBooks will provide at least thirty (30) days’ prior written notice by email to the registered account holder and/or by prominent notice on the BriBooks website.

For non-material changes, updated Terms will be posted on this page and will take effect immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service following any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund & Return Policy, and End-User License Agreement (EULA), constitute the entire agreement between you and BriBooks regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements between us.

21. Acknowledgement

BY USING THE BRIBOOKS SERVICE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN FULL AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM.

IF YOU ARE ACCEPTING ON BEHALF OF A MINOR, YOU CONFIRM YOU HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO DO SO.
